Grade 1 picks up where Kindergarten stops. Children learn the addition and subtraction facts within 20 and the strategies behind them, count and write numbers to 120, see two-digit numbers as tens and ones, and add within 100. Measuring, telling time, halves and quarters, and reading simple data round out the year.
